Rod has a wealth of experience as a professional musician and tutor having taught for many years.  He teaches from the RockSchool syllabus and RGT syllabus with a 100% pass rate to date, almost all with distinction grading.  He is also happy to prepare and assist students towards their school/college music performance exams. 

Rod welcomes adult beginners also and is happy to teach those looking for a new hobby without the pressure of sitting exams.

He is flexible and accommodating in his approach to lessons, and will devise a plan that best suits the requirements of each individual student.

Rod’s career to date as a Bass player and tutor has seen him performing with and supporting artists such as Candi Staton, Sister Sledge and Lisa Mafia and playing in venues overseas and in London (Hammersmith Palais) during his 16 years spent in London working as a session musician.  Rod has been involved in specialist recordings and remixing projects not only as a performer, but a writer, producer and remixer also for labels including Millennium Records, BMG, WEA and Warner Chappell Publishing.

As an artist he continues to write and produce his own material ranging from Jazz, Funk, Soul and Hip Hop and working with a variety of artists.  Click here for his Soundcloud page.

Rod holds an up-to-date Disclosure Scotland PVG certificate.

*Please note, the trial lesson is priced at £18 and lasts for 30 minutes. Students are required to bring their own guitar.
